<mne> |
hi ! is there a way to add javascript to trac ? I would like to add a script that can "decrypt" my obfuscated mailing address |
| [10:45:21] |
<Blackhex> |
and [pysqlite_path] is path where you have pysqlite |
| [10:47:42] |
<Blackhex> |
mne: when you write your plugins you can have js there but i don't understand what do you want to do |
| [10:49:59] |
<mne> |
Blackhex, so I have to write a trac plugin ? google and other robots are indexing my trac site (which is fine), unfortunately it indexes the RAW text ow the wiki. In this text I've some html embedded (a paypal button). The code also includes my e-mail address which I do not want to be indexted by google |
| [10:52:09] |
<Blackhex> |
I see, maybe there is way to write js in wiki page, some macro maybe, but i don't know if any exists, but write that macro will be simple |
| [10:52:58] |
<mne> |
I have no experience with writing trac macros. Do you have a pointer and/or example for this ? |
| [10:53:34] |
<Blackhex> |
see http://trac-hacks.org there is a lot of macros and plugins |
| [10:53:42] |
<mne> |
thank you |
| [10:54:41] |
<Blackhex> |
but good idea (exctept that I am not sure that it could be safe) |
| [10:55:44] |
<mne> |
I obfuscated my email address by just adding 1 to the acsii value. so "abc" would become "bcd". should work to keep spammers away |
| [10:56:29] |
<Blackhex> |
or you can use <at> , image or something like this |
| [10:58:43] |
<mne> |
yep, unfortunately the email address is part of the paypal submit form. So if you view the raw wiki text instead of the wiki page you can see the email address. if you change it (like using <at> <dot> or something) it doesn't work with paypal anymore |
| [10:59:33] |
<Blackhex> |
hmm |
| [11:00:32] |
<mne> |
in short words: I just want to have a paypal button somewhere, that doesn't allow spammers to harvest my mailing addres :P |
| [11:00:51] |
<Blackhex> |
:-) |
| [11:03:01] |
<Tom_> |
hmm always the same error |

has anybody tried to restrict the 'Owner' dropdown to a file of names, or maybe a group setup with TRAC, rather than just who is logged on at the moment? |

rguyton: the owner dropdown list of the people who have logged in once on the system, not only who is logged in at the moment. It's probably quite easy to change Trac to provide an alternative list of "owners". |

<eblot_> |
s/list of/lists/ |
| [16:03:45] |
<rguyton> |
eblot_: Ahh, ok. I'd only logged in as myself, which would explain that. |
| [16:04:33] |
<eblot_> |
to be exact, it's not just about log in: you need to do a change on the Trac DB to be registered as a possible "owner". Have a look at the restrict_owner option doc for the details |
| [16:05:16] |
<rguyton> |
I checked the TracIni wiki page as well as the AssignToDropDownList subsection |

no, what I meant is that t should be quite easy to patch the code to provide an alternative list of owners. You do need to tweak with the code. |
| [16:17:33] |
<rguyton> |
ah. |
| [16:18:27] |

hmm. assuming that i'm running off a packaged version (Ubuntu .deb) I guess I'd have to grab the source and look through it, then compile? |

i'm writing an authz security plugin paco |
| [23:11:22] |
<athomas> |
should be ready soon |
| [23:24:12] |
<pacopablo> |
woohoo! |
| [23:24:29] |
<pacopablo> |
though tha means one would have to manage it via a file, no? |
| [23:24:48] |
<pacopablo> |
what made you go away from your trac-admin method? |
| [23:24:52] |
<athomas> |
correct |
| [23:25:16] |
<athomas> |
that was an artifact from when there was a more advanced permission system included by default |
| [23:25:32] |
<athomas> |
i decided to keep the existing system as the default |
| [23:25:39] |
<pacopablo> |
ahh |
| [23:25:45] |
<athomas> |
and let plugins handle any extra permission control |
| [23:26:12] |
<pacopablo> |
well, I did like the trac-admin idea :) |
| [23:26:30] |
<pacopablo> |
perhpas trac-admin needs to be extensible via plugins too |
| [23:26:45] |
<athomas> |
i had a patch to do that at one stage. it's on trac-hacks |
| [23:34:10] |
<pacopablo> |
hmm, for deciding between digest and basic auth in a config file |
| [23:34:29] |
<pacopablo> |
would it be better to have an auth_type and a auth_params options |
| [23:34:44] |
<pacopablo> |
or a digest_auth and basic_auth options |
| [23:35:04] |
<athomas> |
what's auth_params for? |
| [23:35:10] |
<athomas> |
realm? |
| [23:35:16] |

the values |
| [23:35:31] |
<pacopablo> |
no, just the vaule of --auth |
| [23:35:45] |
<athomas> |
i like the first option personally |
| [23:36:31] |
<pacopablo> |
better name for auth_params? |
| [23:37:39] |
<athomas> |
sounds okay to me |

is TracError in trac.core? |

yes it is :) |
