Hi. I'm using trac 0.10.3. I have set up notification like in the howto with all notification on for instance "always_notify_updater = true". The problem is that the users only get email if they use the cc field. I always get email if I set my address in smtp_always_bcc. However notify owner, reporter and updater does not work. I have tried to look in the trac log, the apache log and the mail log, and there seems to be no sign of an error. |

Does anyone have an idea of how I could find the error? |

however, if I go straight to http://domain/index.cgi/some-project/login, I get a message saying "Authentication information not available" |

<pacopablo> |
foxpaul: not really, are the templates correct? |

<foxpaul> |
pacopablo, not sure to be honest. i've had to move trac over to a new machine, so i used the latest version of it - but the env's/repo's are from the old server |
| [08:13:03] |
<foxpaul> |
i've run trac-admin upgrade though |

| [10:14:44] |
<stalker`> |
retracile: regarding the states i had another idea which seemed cool - don't know how useful it is though. i thought about having the ability to pass parameters to the operations directly from config. something like "newstatus.operations = set_status(s1, s2)". this parameters can be received by the operation handling routine then. |
| [10:15:08] |
<stalker`> |
retracile: the thing is that it is not really needed for the few operations we support out of the box |
| [10:15:30] |
<stalker`> |
retracile: but what if we supported custom operations? ever thought about that? |
| [10:17:55] |
<coderanger> |
At that point, you should probably write a new controller plugin |
| [10:19:14] |
<stalker`> |
cobaltsixty: are you talking to me? |
| [10:19:23] |
<stalker`> |
coderanger: not cobaltsixty |
| [10:19:27] |
<coderanger> |
Indeed |
| [10:19:45] |
<stalker`> |
coderanger: i was talking about the workflow branch |
| [10:19:53] |
<coderanger> |
As was I |
| [10:20:12] |
<coderanger> |
The trac.ini-based configuration for workflows isn't supposed to be a catch-all |
| [10:20:19] |
<coderanger> |
Its just for the simple ones |
| [10:20:43] |
<pacopablo> |
stalker`: part of the workflow branch is to create the proper hooks such that it's fairly simple to replace the whole workflow implementation with another one |
| [10:20:46] |
<coderanger> |
At the point that you need something like variant parameters (like you mentioned), make a new workflow controller |
| [10:20:47] |
<pacopablo> |
via a plugin |
| [10:20:52] |
<stalker`> |
coderanger: yes, i know. you can implement ITicketActionController for more complex scenarios |
| [10:21:14] |
<stalker`> |
coderanger: but i just had this idea about custom operations in the config file |
| [10:21:40] |
<coderanger> |
And I'm saying thats too complex in my mind |
| [10:22:55] |
<coderanger> |
trac.ini is not a replacement for Python code |
| [10:22:57] |
<stalker`> |
coderanger: you might be right... just an idea :) since i just added an action and it seems more obvious to be able somehow to have custom operations that you can call from config |
| [10:23:38] |
<stalker`> |
coderanger: yeah... but if it can replace it - very good (not that python is bad, but still i prefer ini over python) |
| [10:25:02] |
<coderanger> |
Thats the kind of attitude I hope Eli is trying to suppress |
| [10:25:20] |
<coderanger> |
For something that is just simple state transitions, the text format is fine |
| [10:25:34] |
<coderanger> |
Anything more than that is basically code, so why invent a new language |
| [10:26:38] |
<stalker`> |
coderanger: you didn't understand. i said it would be nice to create operations in python and call them from ini |
| [10:26:48] |
<coderanger> |
Why though |
| [10:27:20] |
