[01:44:26] * Skoog[A] has joined #Trac
[01:44:59] <[domon]> darn
[01:45:08] <[domon]> this is...very strange
[01:45:18] <[domon]> i have the plugin file in both environments plugins folder
[01:45:20] <[domon]> each one is different
[01:45:28] <[domon]> (one has an additional link)
[01:45:28] <|1|||1|> does anyone know how to disable certain buttons, such as roadmap?
[01:45:31] <[domon]> but...they both get it
[01:45:46] <[domon]> |1|||1|: navremove plugin i believe
[01:45:48] <[domon]> wait
[01:45:49] <[domon]> navhider
[01:45:57] <kirean> |1|||1|: version?
[01:46:02] <[domon]> uhh
[01:46:04] <[domon]> the latest one
[01:46:08] <[domon]> i guess
[01:46:09] <[domon]> i dont know
[01:46:12] <|1|||1|> you have to use a plugin :/ bummer.
[01:46:12] <[domon]> i'm new to trac :P
[01:46:17] <[domon]> yeah
[01:46:24] <[domon]> they aren't hard to use
[01:46:24] <|1|||1|> i was hoping for a trac.ini way
[01:46:27] <kirean> |1|||1|: which version are you running?
[01:46:45] <|1|||1|> no i'm sure they aren't , but for such a simple task...
[01:46:55] <|1|||1|> kirean: 11
[01:47:10] <|1|||1|> well, .11rc1
[01:48:31] <[domon]> http://paste.lisp.org/display/59998
[01:48:33] <[domon]> i'm using that
[01:48:39] <[domon]> provided by coderanger
[01:48:51] <kirean> |1|||1|: I think you can hide it by using permissions
[01:49:10] <|1|||1|> kirean: I was just looking at that as an alternative
[01:49:22] <|1|||1|> I'll give it a go and see...
[01:49:58] <kirean> |1|||1|: and maybe with this too: http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/0.11/TracIni#mainnavmetanav
[01:50:33] <|1|||1|> i tried roadmap = disabled ... (wishful thinking)
[01:50:42] <|1|||1|> it turned out to be wishdul thinking
[01:50:46] <kirean> ok.. but permission should do it
[01:51:17] <[domon]> |1|||1|: you have to restart the webserver you use

[01:51:45] * havvg has joined #trac
[01:55:00] * takayama has quit IRC

[01:55:21] <[domon]> kirean: has been for me
[01:56:19] <|1|||1|> kirean: Yes that certainly does work - alas it still required a restart, not even a reload will do it (apache).

[01:57:08] <|1|||1|> http://ai.autonomy.net.au/
[01:57:37] <jorisslob> I'm having troubles setting up authentication in tracd using .htpasswd. I tried following http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracStandalone, but I get invalid password line warnings
[01:57:54] <|1|||1|> and anonymous only has BROWSER_VIEW CHANGESET_VIEW FILE_VIEW LOG_VIEW REPORT_SQL_VIEW REPORT_VIEW SEARCH_VIEW WIKI_VIEW
[01:58:01] <BoltClock> hi, im encountering a 500 error when i click Login my own localhost's trac environment. before that i could login but when i hit OK instead of Cancel by accident (fields both blank), i get a 500, and ever since its always been 500 and i dont see the login dialog anymore
[01:58:26] <|1|||1|> BoltClock: What do the web server error logs say?
[01:58:32] <BoltClock> let me check
[02:00:25] <BoltClock> it cant find /etc/apache2/dav_svn.passwd
[02:00:59] <|1|||1|> BoltClock: does that give you enought to work with?
[02:01:28] <BoltClock> should be
[02:04:33] <|1|||1|> ouch

[02:54:19] <mitsuhiko> it just says that it can't import it
[02:54:26] <mitsuhiko> but from the console it works without a problem
[02:55:57] <tinh_> coderanger, are you there?
[02:56:33] <tinh_> hello everyone, does anyone encounter this error No version "0" for Wiki page ....

[04:12:24] <pitillo> hello everybody, is there a way to log all petitions (which are shown in the stdout) in a file? I tried with INFO and DEBUG, does someone know if is it possible from the trac.ini file or if it must be done from a manual redirection?
[04:15:29] <s0undt3ch> pitillo: log all petitions?
[04:16:44] <pitillo> s0undt3ch, yes, I mean all request to the server to see which files were gived to the client
[04:17:39] <s0undt3ch> pitillo: ah, and you're using tracd?
[04:17:46] <mitsuhiko> anyone an idea what could cause that: http://dev.pocoo.org/projects/werkzeug/ ?
[04:18:57] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: you lost all the top part of the page?
[04:19:04] <pitillo> s0undt3ch, yes, I am using it and touched the trac.ini file to put the file which I want to use for logging, but I am not sure it is it possible to keep track of that from the trac.ini file
[04:19:07] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: yes
[04:19:10] <mitsuhiko> and the bottom part
[04:19:12] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: bad match in your templates?
[04:19:19] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: i just upgraded trac
[04:19:22] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: regarding to some changes on trac?
[04:19:37] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/68103/
[04:21:36] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: previously you had rc1?
[04:21:42] <mitsuhiko> yes
[04:23:24] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: have you set req.chorme.theme anywhere?
[04:23:47] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: nope
[04:25:35] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: so far I didn't see anything changed on branches-0.11 that could break your layout
[04:25:56] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: oh. and genshi was upgraded from 0.4 to 0.5
[04:26:03] <mitsuhiko> (was a dependency)
[04:28:26] <pitillo> well, I will take a look to see if I can redirect the stdout directly to a file without using the trac.ini file. Thank you anyways :)
[04:29:14] * __t has quit IRC
[04:31:41] <cmlenz> mitsuhiko: can you try cp'ing site.html to layout.html, so that it overrides the trac default layout.html template?
[04:32:13] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: cp site.html layout.html or what do you mean?
[04:32:21] <cmlenz> it won't quite work right, but it should have some effect
[04:32:24] <cmlenz> yeah
[04:32:28] <cmlenz> in the same dir
[04:32:35] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: http://dev.pocoo.org/projects/werkzeug/
[04:32:44] <cmlenz> ok
[04:32:48] <mitsuhiko> pretty much the opposite now :)
[04:32:48] <cmlenz> that's good no?
[04:32:51] * cmlenz leaves
[04:32:56] <cmlenz> :P
[04:33:10] <cmlenz> so… what could this be
[04:33:18] <cmlenz> change back please :)
[04:33:30] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: done :)
[04:33:56] <cmlenz> the head stuff is applied but body isn't
[04:34:33] * huats_ has left #trac
[04:34:43] <cmlenz> although no, your _tracdesign links aren't in head, but all the trac chrome is
[04:35:02] <cmlenz> interesting :P
[04:35:10] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: k, you have THE man now, no need for my own help ;)
[04:35:22] <cmlenz> do me a favor and copy the default trac layout.html into the env directory so that we can tweak it
[04:35:39] <cmlenz> env/templates, I mean
[04:35:43] <mitsuhiko> sure. sec
[04:35:57] * PlasmaHH has joined #trac
[04:36:06] <mitsuhiko> 's there
[04:36:09] * __t has joined #trac
[04:37:04] <cmlenz> now remove the chrome.theme include at the bottom
[04:37:08] <PlasmaHH> hi people. I know this is kind of a strange question... but does anyone here know a tool that works like trac (ticket+svn part) and is a bit more "enterprisy"? (e.g. supports multiple sub-ticket-trackers, multiple svns) ?
[04:37:10] <cmlenz> comment out, or whatever
[04:37:33] * lightcap has quit IRC
[04:37:37] <mitsuhiko> no effect
[04:37:58] <cmlenz> ok, now set buffer="false" to buffer="true"
[04:37:59] <mitsuhiko> interestingly <html> appears twice
[04:38:22] <cmlenz> weird
[04:38:50] <mitsuhiko> no change with buffer either
[04:39:06] <mitsuhiko> i wonder if it has a problem with layout.html being the basename twice in the xinclude chain
[04:39:34] <mitsuhiko> nope
[04:39:54] <cmlenz> where's the pocoo_design directory?
[04:40:06] * tinh_ has quit IRC
[04:40:08] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: inside templates
[04:40:18] <mitsuhiko> it's a symlink to /var/trac/trac-pocoo-templates
[04:40:23] <cmlenz> k
[04:40:39] <aat> what plugins do you have installed mitsuhiko?
[04:40:41] <aat> if any
[04:41:04] <mitsuhiko> aat: trac mercurial, but that doesn't load and the trac account manger
[04:41:32] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: tried removing your site.html to see if normal trac layout is perfectly loaded?
[04:42:03] <mitsuhiko> hmm. doesn't load either
[04:43:15] <s0undt3ch> I guess that leaves out some (now) wrong match'ing on your site.html
[04:44:08] <pitillo> well, making a redirection from console doesn't work too. I will wait to see if someone can read the question and can give me a hint.
[04:44:32] <mitsuhiko> disabled all the plugins now, no effect eithe
[04:45:01] <pitillo> ummm well, got it finally
[04:45:02] <cmlenz> so there's no custom site.html and it's not working?
[04:45:08] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: yes
[04:45:41] <cmlenz> mitsuhiko: is there a global templates dir? i.e. [inherit] templates_dir = bla?
[04:46:15] <mitsuhiko> just a plugins dir
[04:46:27] <mitsuhiko> and svn is disabled
[04:46:46] <mitsuhiko> that's the only inherited value
[04:47:14] <cmlenz> so you're pretty much running a pristine trac and it's not working… are you running python trunk or sth? :P
[04:47:48] <mitsuhiko> ;)
[04:48:04] <mitsuhiko> genshi 0.5, python 2.5.2, trac0.11rc2
[04:48:31] <cmlenz> very weird
[04:48:35] <cmlenz> worksforme :P
[04:48:36] * mitsuhiko adds pristine to his vocabulary
[04:48:50] <cmlenz> heh
[04:49:19] <mitsuhiko> so. trying to go back to 0.11rc1 for a moment
[04:50:08] <mitsuhiko> no effect
[04:53:22] * hwinkel has quit IRC
[04:53:32] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: http://dev.pocoo.org/projects/werkzeug/
[04:53:35] <aat> freaky
[04:53:37] <mitsuhiko> trac 0.11rc1, genshi 0.4.4
[04:53:41] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: on my testing env I added to my site.html -> http://paste.pocoo.org/show/68152/
[04:53:58] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: now I have the same results as you, it's probably the body's select fault
[04:54:11] <mitsuhiko> looks like a bug in genshi 0.5
[04:55:01] <cmlenz> I can't reproduce any of this
[04:55:56] <s0undt3ch> cmlenz: new, env and make site.html like the one I pasted
[04:56:08] <s0undt3ch> s/,//
[04:56:53] <cmlenz> well, I have pretty much the same thing
[04:57:10] <cmlenz> what is causing that, I mean can you simplify that and still get the same problem?
[04:57:35] <s0undt3ch> cmlenz: the problems seems to be on his body match
[04:58:04] <cmlenz> well, you're not including the chrome in your match
[04:58:13] <cmlenz> div[@id="main"] is just the main content area
[04:58:23] <cmlenz> so what do you expect? :P
[04:58:58] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: upgraded back to 0.5, bug here again
[04:59:27] <cmlenz> well I can only say that it works here
[04:59:31] <cmlenz> everything I tru
[04:59:32] <s0undt3ch> ${select('*[@id!="ctxtnav"]|text()')}?
[04:59:32] <cmlenz> try, even
[05:00:19] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: works in genshi trunk
[05:00:34] * tekknokrat has joined #trac
[05:00:40] <cmlenz> huh?
[05:00:49] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: broken in 0.5, works in 0.4.4 and genshi trunk
[05:00:54] <cmlenz> s0undt3ch: for example http://scratchpad.cmlenz.net/f84d73747a563b1ea7c6549cb6bd7652/
[05:01:08] <cmlenz> there have been no relevant changes in trunk, AFAIK
[05:01:25] <mitsuhiko> well. that's all i can tell you :)
[05:01:50] <mitsuhiko> it's definitely broken in 0.5
[05:01:54] <mitsuhiko> double checked that
[05:02:00] <cmlenz> genshi from the 0.5.0 tag works here too
[05:02:08] <cmlenz> wtf
[05:02:27] <mitsuhiko> Downloading http://ftp.edgewall.com/pub/genshi/Genshi-0.5-py2.5-linux-x86_64.egg

[05:03:20] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/68103/
[05:03:39] <mitsuhiko> try to copy those templates into an empty trac env and use genshi 0.5
[05:03:58] <cmlenz> you said you were getting wrong behavior even without any site.html
[05:04:17] <cmlenz> or not?
[05:04:34] * bkuhn has joined #trac
[05:04:50] <cmlenz> can you try genshi from the 0.5.0 tag instead of the egg?
[05:04:56] <mitsuhiko> sec
[05:05:36] <mitsuhiko> boy. i want an easy_eggremover
[05:06:48] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: works
[05:07:10] <mitsuhiko> broken eggilitud?
[05:07:25] <mitsuhiko> or just weird, weird magic
[05:08:13] <asmodai> Mmm
[05:08:18] <asmodai> possible Linux conflicts?

[05:25:46] <evil_twin> New news from t.e.o: Ticket #7329 (reopened tickets broken on trac0.11rc1) created <http://trac.edgewall.org/ticket/7329>
[05:27:24] <cmlenz> mitsuhiko: so is speedups the difference? does one version use it and the other not?
[05:29:49] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: both versions use it, but i compared it to an uncompiled one
[05:29:54] <mitsuhiko> actually i think the problem is setuptools
[05:30:11] <mitsuhiko> at least that would make sense because i have problems getting trac eat my mercurial plugin egg
[05:30:20] <mitsuhiko> it fails to declare a namespace *shrug*
[05:30:32] <cmlenz> namespace?
[05:30:43] <mitsuhiko> cmlenz: that ungly thing: http://peak.telecommunity.com/DevCenter/setuptools#namespace-packages
[05:30:58] <cmlenz> why do you use that?
[05:31:12] <aat> maybe my x86_64 egg is borked?
[05:31:26] <aat> try the source egg?
[05:31:29] <asmodai> or one of mine?
[05:31:36] <asmodai> aat: salmonella? :(
[05:31:42] <aat> heh

[05:34:52] <mitsuhiko> however. that this breaks template matching would be weird
[05:36:29] <asmodai> mitsuhiko / aat / cmlenz : http://paste.pocoo.org/show/68172/ -- decent enough or can it be done in a nicer way?

[05:45:58] <asmodai> btw: I love how gmail spams google groups moderation emails.

[05:46:49] <asmodai> gimme a sec
[05:46:53] <asmodai> I should be able to nowadays
[05:46:56] <aat> i can't actually do any moderation atm, but i do get the joy of the notification spam
[05:48:32] <asmodai> aat: You want to keep email delivery to swapoff I assume?
[05:48:50] <aat> gmail.com is fine, it gets forwarded
[05:50:19] <asmodai> aat: want to moderate trac-users too? :)
[05:50:39] <aat> not particularly :P
[05:50:48] <asmodai> aat: for -dev I switched email delivery to gmail.com and I changed moderation status to the gmail one
[05:51:17] <asmodai> aat: for -users want me to swap email delivery from swapoff to gmail as well?
[05:52:55] <aat> please
[05:53:44] <asmodai> done

[06:43:48] <asmodai> cmlenz / mitsuhiko: btw, from trac-users:
[06:43:52] <stupidknight_> trying to setup trac. I used this tutorial to get it up and running: http://blog.kabisa.nl/2008/01/08/installing-trac-on-debian-etch/ and this is how my vhost conf looks like, any ideas on why I don't expected results: http://pastebin.com/d1e9d690b

[06:52:05] <cmlenz> that URL shows how that error is in AcctMgr should be fixed, if it wasn't fixed already
[06:54:20] <stupidknight_> Anyone around who can help me get trac up and running in a vhost environment?
[06:54:37] <asmodai> cmlenz: yeah, but that's the odd thing, get_navigation_items() is at L196-201 in trunk
[06:54:41] <asmodai> so I think his plugin is just outdated
[06:55:00] <asmodai> (which I already emailed)
[06:55:16] <asmodai> And web_ui.py looks ok from what I read and comparing to your URL.

[07:00:53] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: what revision do you suggest?
[07:01:32] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: you can have latest, just disable the email verification, not full proof yet
[07:01:56] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: I'm working on that subject to create a patch for that

[07:02:45] * pombreda has quit IRC
[07:03:06] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: one thing, though, should we verify anonymous users email addresses? then create another virtual perm group for those, ie, verified users group where we can give more perms to those? or simply, only verify authenticated user?
[07:03:34] <mitsuhiko> i haven't had a spam problem so i don't think that makes any sense
[07:03:43] <mitsuhiko> just disable the form authentication and be happy
[07:03:50] <mitsuhiko> spam bots are currently too stupid to implement http auth
[07:03:54] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: this also needs discussion with matt_good, coderanger and pacopablo which also worked on that plug
[07:05:11] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: yes, but regarding email verification, I actually hate my mail server having to work for bogus email addresses
[07:05:12] <tekknokrat> s0undt3ch: hi, I got just stuck with email verification on setup of account_mgr, how can I best verify users for the moment?
[07:05:27] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: how to fight it. double opt-in or checking pinging the smtp server?
[07:05:35] <s0undt3ch> and I prefer my users to provide email addresses, that way, I don't have to wait a year with a ticket open because user didn't get notified that I needed more info ;)
[07:05:51] * Skoog[A] has quit IRC
[07:07:15] <s0undt3ch> tekknokrat: well, for the moment you can't force users to verify their addresses. The patch I'm buiding provides that as an option. That way, when you upgrade acct_mgr, the next time users login, they will be notified that they either need an email address, and then they need to verify it
[07:08:43] <s0undt3ch> tekknokrat: currently, email verification, is done for all users, even anonymous, and for the anonymous case, it badly implemented, ie, once an anonymous users set's an email address, they can't remove it or they will be bugged every time until they change their session id
[07:09:05] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: pinging smtp server? the users addresses?
[07:09:36] <mitsuhiko> s0undt3ch: send a helo to the stmp server of that domain and gracefully walk away
[07:09:55] <mitsuhiko> if there is no response that is a bogus domain
[07:10:30] <s0undt3ch> mitsuhiko: If we have an lmtp implementation, we could behave as a proxy to the mail server, and when mailserver rejects that address because domain cold not be found or because the address was rejected, then we could clean that email from our db, but that's a bit too ahead of current implementation
